This chainmail hauberk is made from 16-gauge mild steel rings with a protective zinc finish. The zinc coating gives the steel a bright metallic appearance while helping protect it against rust. Each round steel ring has an inner diameter of 9 millimeters, creating the distinctive interlocking appearance associated with medieval mail armour.

The steel rings are arranged in a traditional 4-in-1 weave. In this classic pattern, four rings pass through another ring to form a mesh of overlapping steel. The rings around the armpit area are riveted for additional durability in an area that experiences frequent movement. Providing more coverage than a short sleeve hauberk, this chainmail shirt features long sleeves that extend down the arms. The sleeves gradually become narrower toward the cuffs.

For the best comfort and fit, wear the Ragnar Steel Chainmail Hauberk over a padded gambeson or other arming wear. Pair it with other protective armour pieces to build a complete look. Its classic style works great for Viking warriors, Crusaders, and fantasy characters.

Care Instructions:

• This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil.
