Defend the honor of the forgotten realms wearing the polished Dungeons & Dragons Steel Torso. Forge your legacy on the battlefield with this steel cuirass keeping you protected without compromising mobility or style.
Forged for Encounters in the Forgotten Realms
Forged from 18 gauge steel, this medieval cuirass is intended for LARP combat and costuming. Whether you’re a Paladin clad in divine light, a ruthless Fighter seeking your next mercenary contract, or a mighty Cleric defending the temple, this chest piece complements a wide variety of D&D character ideas. This LARP cuirass is designed as two pieces attached by leather straps.
Starting with the breastplate in the front, it has a concave neck line with two leather straps that secure over your shoulders and are attached to a ring at the top of the backplate. The side plates are articulated for better movement and they’re round for better protection. The edges of the entire chest armour are contoured, meaning they face away from you for easier wearing and protection.
The backplate covers the lower back while allowing your upper back and arms free and unhindered. Four leather straps, two on each steel panel, attach to the curved backplate. This open space is perfect for wearing your favorite cloak. Two brass rings at the bottom of the backplate are intended for attaching to the Dungeons & Dragons Steel Tassets (BG-1308). You can also attach other tassets and thigh pieces to the bottom of this medieval armour piece that use buckles.

Breastplates are excellent armour pieces for their versatility and ease of wear. This breastplate covers most of the torso while the backplate protects the sides and the kidneys. This level of protection still leaves your arms free and your movement unhindered at LARP battles, Renaissance fairs, and cosplay conventions.
When purchasing armour pieces, it is best to stay within the brand to ensure the best compatibility. This fantasy breastplate pairs excellently with other armour from the Dungeons & Dragons: A Call to Arms brand. Wear this steel breastplate over padded arming wear like the Dungeons & Dragons Basic (BG-1296) and Studded (BG-1297) gambesons. Padded arming wear cushions you to ensure the steel plate doesn’t chafe and can help distribute the weight to make it easier to wear for long periods of time.
It is also recommended to buckle the straps tight on this torso armour when worn, as gravity will want to pull it down over time. Securing it with a snug fit will help this D&D torso armour stay in place longer. Thanks to the straps in the back, you can adjust to shift the weight of the breastplate when needed.
Any D&D character can benefit from this chest armour. Rangers going for a more heavily armoured archer look are well protected against the enemy. Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and other magic users can embrace a “Battle Mage” look by wearing this breastplate as a part of their ensemble. No matter if you’re a LARPer, cosplayer, or someone who loves armour, this steel chestplate is a versatile addition to your armoury.
