Iconic Renaissance Design

Inspired by the iconic sallets of late medieval Europe, this German helmet is forged from polished 18 gauge mild steel and designed to protect your head during LARP combat and light sparring. At the top, this LARP sallet helmet has a comb-like crest that tapers into the tail at the back. Like its historical inspiration, this reinforced tail is short and flared following a design from Northern Italy and Germany.

Leading into the forehead is a scalloped, reinforced plate that gives you better protection just above the eyes. Underneath the plate is a clasped visor with which it earned its name. It’s named the “bellows” visor because it has a deep grooved design like a bellows with many ventilation holes. When lifted, the visor gives you unhindered visibility. Named because it has many ventilation holes and it looks like a bellows. This deep visor protects the face and much of the neck when worn, designed as a strict upgrade to the stiff, immobile bevors of older sallets. This allows you better range of motion for your head.

Inside the helmet is an adjustable leather chin strap. This LARP knight helmet also has leather lining, so you can wear it without your arming cap or add your own preferred padding before battle.

• This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil.
