Evoke the chivalry of medieval knights wielding the Leofric Knightly Sword. This stylish and reliable blade has you covered whether you’re fighting in mock combat or you’re portraying a character from history.
Battle-Ready Craftsmanship
Forged by hand from spring steel, this fully functional sword is a great choice for stage combat productions and medieval ensembles alike. Spring steel means this sword is forged from steel that has higher amounts of carbon, giving it a higher level of elasticity and resilience. This sword is forged with a full tang, meaning the metal blade extends into the handle as one piece to give it strength and balance.
The unsharpened, double-edged blade has a wide fuller down the forte. Not only does the fuller remove excess material from the blade without compromising its integrity, it also bolsters the cutting edges for added strength. The tip is rounded for added safety. Please note this sword is handmade, meaning it may vary slightly in color and shape. Keep in mind that any minor notches along the blade are not defects in the combat sword’s design, but are the result of resistance testing.
Moving down to the hilt, the blocky, cruciform crossguard has twisting quillons. These quillons twist into rectangular arms that end in notched finials. In the middle, the quillon block is grooved for added detail, complete with an angled notch over the base of the blade. Underneath the crossguard is a wooden handle. This handle accommodates a one-handed grip similar to arming swords and riding swords from the medieval period. The handle is grooved and riveted to the tang. It has a shallow taper from the crossguard to the pommel, getting slightly thinner to place more of the balance toward the blade. At the bottom, there is a faceted scent-stopper pommel forged from steel.
