The Gastir Viking LARP Shield has been made in collaboration with Lejre Land of Legends, which is a Danish center for historical and archaeological research. Then, the specific design was chosen from shields seen in the Oseberg Tapestry, which is an artifact from a Viking ship burial found in Norway.

Shield Construction:

This LARP shield has an EVA foam construction that is both soft and safe as well as sturdy enough for LARP combat. Protective latex then coats the foam. Designed to look like painted leather stretched over wood, a faux leather strip accents the outer edge. Red and blue in equal parts spiral out from the central boss. This center shield boss features a metallic, dark steel tone.

Furthermore, this round LARP shield boss has rivets around its edges, enhancing the shields realistic look. On the back, the foam Viking shield has a realistic wood grain with a grip in the center, behind the boss. The grip will fit comfortably even in the hands of those not wearing armour. Finally, leather wrapping gives texture to the hold.

Care Instructions:

• Latex shields do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) in our LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and increases the lifetime of the shield. It also prevents the coating from drying out and improves resistance to wear and tear.
