Forged from 18 gauge mild steel, these pauldrons are intended for LARP combat and costuming. The shoulder pauldrons are sold as a pair. They’re perfect for styling historical European knights, noble paladins, armored warriors, and other medieval fantasy characters.

The pauldrons are designed as four plates held together with leather straps. The four separate plates are riveted to leather straps on the back, which allows them a degree of flexibility to match the wearer’s movements. The upper piece, called the gardbrace, is shaped like a triangular dome with three reinforcing steel rivets to protect the front, back, and top of the shoulders. The gardbrace can be attached to the Late Medieval Avenger Steel Gorget thanks to a buckle at the top.

The smaller section below the gardbrace is called the rerebrace and covers the upper arms. The gardbrace and the rerebrace have contoured borders for added detail. Across the lower rerebrace, underneath the pauldron, is an adjustable strap meant to buckle around your arm.

• This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil.
