Introducing the 16th Century Italian Sallet Helmet – a remarkable piece of historical craftsmanship brought to life for the modern-day warrior. Inspired by an original design circa 1500, this helmet is a testament to the ingenuity and skill of medieval armorers.

Historical Craftsmanship and Design

Crafted from robust 16 gauge steel, this sallet helmet offers superior protection for responsible battling and historical reenactment. The round head and moderate ridge along the top of the helmet provide a sleek and streamlined profile. An additional plate of steel reinforces the front of the brow, its center coming to a point for additional visual impact.

Next, one of the most striking features of this Italian sallet helmet is the hinged visor, which swings up from each side, allowing the wearer to easily transition between open and closed positions. A pin at the bottom of on one side of the helmet helps secure the medieval helmet closed when worn.

Then, the point where the visor and base meet is open, forming a short, wide eye slit that spans the width of the visor’s front plate. This grants excellent visibility on the battlefield without sacrificing too much defense. Beneath that, forged ridges with ample ventilation holes ensure optimal breathability and comfort during extended wear.

The visor’s wide side plates then overlap seamlessly with the sides of he helmet, and base of the helmet extends slightly to protect the back of the neck, providing the iconic coverage sallet helmets are known for.

Crafted for Comfort and Safety in Battle

Inside, an adjustable canvas liner, padded for extra comfort, ensures a customized fit for each wearer. A sturdy leather chin strap with a brass buckle keeps the helmet securely in place, even in the heat of battle. This bellows style sallet helmet is an ideal choice for medium to light cavalry characters, soldiers, and knights.

Whether you’re a seasoned reenactor or a passionate history enthusiast, the 16th Century Italian Sallet Helmet is a must-have addition to your collection. Experience the authenticity and craftsmanship of a bygone era with this exceptional piece of historical armor.
